On the esplanade of access to the Planetarium you can see a metallic meteorite found in 1965 in the province of Chaco.

Its hemispherical dome is 20 meters in diameter and internally roofed with aluminum, which serves as a display. The center is located the heart: the real planetarium.

The instrument is called the planetarium is a device 5 meters high and 2.5 tons, which is about one hundred projectors. It consists of a cylindrical shell with independent projectors for the moon, sun and planets visible to the naked eye, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, and two spheres at the extremes which project 8,900 stars. The device, branded Zeiss, is a modern version created in the 30s in Germany.

A system of projectors and lasers aimed at the dome provide a variety of shows on the formation of the universe, with the exhibition of 8900 fixed stars, constellations and nebulae.

The hemisphere is mounted on a network of 5,300 interconnected steel bars, aluminum plates and wood, curved glass and iron-based U-shaped, ie six equilateral triangles whose vertices arranged to result in a circle.

Nearly seven million people have already seen some of the 25,000 functions provided for three decades.
